Service Description

This four-hour course, mandated by the State of Maryland, is required for individuals seeking to obtain a Handgun Qualification License (HQL), which is necessary for handgun purchases within the state. The curriculum provides critical instruction on firearm safety, home defense strategies, and proficiency in firearm operation, including manipulation, loading and unloading procedures, malfunction response, weapon maintenance, and additional relevant topics. Range Qualification: The range qualification is part of the class and takes place outdoors. If weather conditions are not ideal, we will reschedule as needed. The range location will be announced during class and is within a 5-to-15-minute drive. Items Needed for Class: • Firearm (rentals available*) IMPORTANT - If you bring your own firearm, please make sure it is clean and well lubricated. • Ammunition (1 round)• • Eye and ear protection – Safety glasses (rent for $10 for both, includes electronic ear protection, or purchase for $40 for both) • VERY IMPORTANT: Baseball style hat/cap or a hat with a brim • Sunblock (recommended) • Bug spray (recommended) • NO OPEN-TOED SHOES • NO V-NECK or LOW-CUT SHIRTS • Lunch – Bring your own or be prepared to order (limited nearby options) *Firearm rental with 1 round - $10 (for MD HQL classes ONLY) If you have any concerns whatsoever, please contact us at 302-293-2218 or email us at info@TrustDTS.com.
