Our journey here at Defensive Training Solutions began in 2020, emerging from a unique combination of opportunity and necessity.

Nicole Hughes, the founder, never envisioned that Defensive Training Solutions would be part of her life. Although always passionate about martial arts, she was initially opposed to firearms. However, a life-threatening incident years ago shifted her perspective. Determined not to remain a victim, Nicole educated herself on safe and responsible firearms ownership, uncovering widespread misconceptions and misinformation, as well as non-lethal methods of protection.

 

The concept for Defensive Training Solutions ignited when Nicole assisted a fellow instructor. Leaving a career in finance to lead a company devoted to enhancing personal and public safety has been transformative and purposeful. Today, our mission is clear: to offer comprehensive training that empowers individuals and strengthens community safety.
